The Opportunity Network offers students the option of achieving a qualification for each year of study. Students that fail to complete a traditional University programs 3 years will walk away without a qualification. The Opportunity Network has designed a structure to ensure that a qualification is achieved for each year of study.
The qualification explained
1 and year 2 are edexcel b - tec qualifications which are practical and
vocationally focused designed to meet the demands of industry and the
market place. Edexcel is the UKs largest examine body and their
qualifications have both national and international recognition.
The Opportunity Network feel that year 1 and year 2 qualifications are ideally focused on matching the needs of employers and creating the right entrepreneurial and employability skills. The program of each year is strong enough as a stand a lone qualification.
However , many students like the Edexcel B - tec route towards a achieving a full University degree from a recognised UK University.
Top-up degrees are of one year duration, entering onto the final year of the full time undergraduate BA / BSc Honours degrees.
Students who have an HND (Higher National Diploma) may progress onto the final year of a degree programme, subject to unit grade performance at HND, and English language capability (usually IELTS 6.0) for non native speakers. (Edexcel degree top up data)
Please see Edexcels own list of Universities that offer 1 year degree top up routes. please that that acceptance onto a University top up program is at the discretion of the individual University.
The list includes :
- The University of Greenwich
- The University of Hertfordshire
- Oxford Brookes University
- Guildhall college ( With University of East London)
- University of Plymouth
